I made my own air freshener with items I had in my home.
I did not come up with this idea on my own. The idea came from the blog Free People. They did theirs a little differently. Below is a picture of their air freshener.
I had the Ball jar but decided to recycle the cover of a magazine instead of using cardstock for the cover. That way I did not need to paint it for decoration.
First, I picked the image I wanted and traced the cover of the Ball jar on the magazine cover. Then, I cut it out.
It fit perfectly in the lid.
I screwed in on the jar and punched holes in the lid with a nail. I put the holes along the lines of the picture, so that they would be less obvious.
Next, I put in the baking soda and eucalyptus oil. I filled about a fourth of the jar with baking soda and put in about fifteen drops of eucalyptus oil. I was not very exact in my measurements. Now I have an air freshener for free. It took me all of ten minutes to make. I made it while talking on the phone with my cousin.
