Curb Sale Directors Chairs

Update: This blog has moved! You can check out this post here.

There are few things that I love more than finding something on the side of the road. These are what I call my curb sale items. Since the beginning of this blog, one of my categories has been “Curb Sale Items,” and I have featured many things that I found in the trash. You can find these posts by going to the Category pull down menu on the right side of this page. One of my all-time favorite blogs is Things I Find In The Trash. Because I have so much fun trash-picking myself and would like to encourage more people to do so, saving as much as possible from unnecessarily entering the landfill, I am going to start posting more of the things that I, or Douglas, find in the trash.

The first item featured are these directors chairs that Douglas found in June.

  1. I have found some AMAZING THINGS in the trash/side of the road. We break for “treasures”!
These are great, Jessica. I bet they cleaned up beautifully. Richie would tell you that I need one of these because I like to be “the director”. No, dude… I’m the BOSS! (kidding!)
    Great post!

    • Trash picking is fun! The best part is that I now have Douglas doing it too. He was a little disturbed by the idea when we first got together. Now he is pulling more out of the trash than I am!

I wish I could bring you one. Austin is a little far.

  2. only you can decide need, hoard, or release ;-)

If the color needs changing you can dye (if fabric is cotton), great way to refresh fabric so that it is to your liking

  3. Hi Jessica, I’m enjoying your blog, just as Doug thought!
I think you should paint them a vibrant, autumn orange or a vivid turquoise. Those colors should complement the brown fabric. Hard to see the color, though: if it’s too pale a brown, those colors will look oddly overpowering.

    • Thank you, Tanya! I enjoyed reading what you had written as well.

The color is actually more of a burnt orange. It is not my favorite color, maybe because I went to the University of Oklahoma and our rivals were UTexas. :) I wonder if I could die the fabric brown and paint the chairs a fun autumn color?

  4. I vote to keep them! I think they are perfect for when we our outside entertaining. Much better than the ‘camp/beach’ folding chairs we often use. I like Tanya’s (even though material is a faded red, not brown, ez fix) and Tess’ ideas!

  5. I am thinking tart em up, and then decide…I have been scoring some great stuff too, not much free yet, but cheap, so will be gussying them up very soon…! And then if something better comes along, I will pass them on to a new lucky owner…soo excited to get started!

I would love to hear what you have to say about this post!
