Mow, Mow, Mow Your Lawn

Mow, Mow, Mow Your Lawn

Gently cut the grass,

Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
I’m a happy lass.

You can imagine me singing the opening lines of this post to the tune of Row, Row, Row Your Boat. Actually, it would be even better if you sing it yourself, but then you might get it stuck in your head all day, which is what happened to me. I would attach a video of me singing the song for you, but then no one would ever come back to this blog.

If you did not already figure it out, this post is about cutting the grass. While this is vastly different than cutting the rug, there is a certain grace to it, especially if you have a push mower, which we do.

  1. I have a push mower and can attest it is a great workout and much kinder to the environment. My local hardware store has them in stock which was an added bonus. Plus, I Freecycled my gas mower (and gas can) so it was a win-win all around.

  2. I’ve always wanted one of these. The gas, oil, the noise and the possibility of a rock going through a window or yanking my shoulder out of place pulling on the starter is just not so appealing. I’d rather do it your way…
but since Richie loves his toys I will just pretend I live at your house. 🙂

  3. I love the gentle sound a push mower makes. It reminds me of when I was a little kid and my mom would mow our big backyard … and then Pop bought her a power mower. A push mower even came with my house … but it was so hard to push through the thick grass that I soon knuckled under and bought a power mower, myself. Guess it runs in the family!

I would love to hear what you have to say about this post!
