Second Bedroom Redesign

Update: This blog has moved! You can check out this post here.

My house was so messy by Saturday last week, that I could not believe so little time had passed since the last cleaning. I was particularly dismayed by the state of the second bedroom. Two weeks ago, on Labor Day weekend, my friend Nga came to visit, and the room looked like this.

I love mirrors…..and not just when I am reflected in them. Although, that is nice too!

Bride reflected in mirror

They reflect light and make everything seem bigger. When set up correctly, they reflect beauty. They make every space better than it was before. I have mirrors all over my house. We are now going to take a break from wedding diy to take inventory of the mirrors in the Cape of Dreams.

Curb Sale Mirror and Painted Dresser

Update: This blog has moved! You can check out this post here.

For those of you who do not know what a curb sale is, it means taking something out of the trash or off of the curb. One man’s junk truly is one woman’s treasure in my book. A good deal of my cache comes out of the trash. Douglas used to cringe when I would call him and ask him if he could pick something up in his truck, because he knew that it was most likely is sitting on the curb somewhere. Of course, the good husband that he is, he often finds things now on his runs or bike rides, and he is the one telling me about them. Then again, yesterday on the way to a  friend’s house, he covered my eyes when we passed a big pile of possible treasures on the side of the road. Sigh.

So, on Monday, I teased you with this picture. I was working on two projects that day.

Painting furniture

One of my projects was to paint the frame of a mirror that I found on the curb while living in Manhattan.
